League of Legends: Details on the new Prime League

The Premier Tour becomes the Prime League: the official League of Legends league for all players in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. RECARO is proud to support the new league as a supplier and partner. The Prime League is open to professionals and amateurs alike. Find out exactly how the league is structured and how you can take part in it in our special.

Several divisions are combined under the banner of the Prime League, including regulated promotion and relegation. As a League of Legends player, you can show off your skills in the league and take your team to the very top. The Prime League is being created under the auspices of Riot Games, Lagardère Sports Germany, and Freaks 4U Gaming.

The registration phase is underway

If you are actively playing League of Legends and perhaps have already found a team of friends, you can still register until January 26, 2020. You and your team can even complete the so-called calibration phase a day in advance. The Prime League will be split into several divisions. The classification is based on these qualification phases as well as the final placements in the 2019 pre-season of the Premier Tour, Summoner’s Inn League, and ESL Championship.

But even if your team doesn’t take part in the calibration round, you can still participate in the Prime League, but you’ll automatically be placed in the Starter Division.

Battle commences on January 21

For the top teams, the Pro Division of the Prime League will start on January 21. Division 1 kicks off on January 27, and Divisions 2 through 6 and the Starter Division follow on February 3, 2020.

Pro Division matches and selected matches from Division 1 will be broadcast live on the internet. In the offline final matches, the Prime League title will then be up for grabs. The pros will compete on the RECARO Exo Gaming chairs and fight for the winner’s trophy and a place at the European Masters, where the best teams from across Europe will compete in League of Legends.

Pro Division matches will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Division 1 matches will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The Schalke 04 and SK Gaming teams are the respective academy teams of the organizations. Schalke 04 and SK Gaming themselves compete in the LEC.
